TotalEnergies has extended its contract for the Noble Gerry De Souza, a 12,000-ft drillship, by approximately 140 days. The extension will begin in January 2025, following a six-week off-hire period. The rig has been instrumental in TotalEnergies’ operations offshore Nigeria since early 2023, focusing on infill drilling at the Akpo and Egina fields.
Looking ahead, TotalEnergies retains options for over a year of additional work with the drillship. These options could extend the rig’s operations into 2026, further solidifying its role in supporting TotalEnergies’ key projects in the region.
