Seatrium is pleased to announce the successful early delivery of its fifth and final newbuild jack-up rig, “Var,” to Borr Drilling. This significant milestone was achieved almost a full year before schedule, demonstrating Seatrium’s robust capabilities in the timely and efficient execution of complex offshore projects. The delivery showcases Seatrium’s proven track record for high-quality builds, underpinned by adherence to safety standards and budget requirements.
The “Var” rig, part of a series of five KFELS Super B Class jackup rigs built for Borr Drilling, marks the completion of this major offshore project. The series has seen the delivery of four other rigs between 2022 and 2024, each constructed at Seatrium’s Pioneer Yard in Singapore. Designed for exceptional performance, “Var” can operate in depths of up to 400 feet and drill to depths of 35,000 feet. It is equipped with a fully automated, high-capacity rack and pinion jacking system and boasts a cantilever structure capable of handling a maximum combined load of 3,700 kips. The rig provides full accommodations for up to 150 personnel, ensuring comprehensive amenities and functionality for operations.
This achievement underscores Seatrium’s One Seatrium Global Delivery Model, an approach that enhances resource allocation, integrates cross-regional teams, and leverages advanced technology for seamless execution. The strategy facilitates a streamlined, effective series-build process that continues to set the benchmark for timely, high-quality offshore solutions. With the delivery of “Var,” Seatrium reinforces its position as a leader in offshore engineering and construction, meeting the demands of global energy exploration with innovation and precision.
