Italian offshore energy services firm Saipem has secured a major $2 billion contract under its Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with Saudi Aramco to develop the Marjan field in Saudi Arabia. The contract covers a range of work, including engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of wellhead platforms, jackets, and subsea infrastructure such as rigid flowlines, submarine composite cables, and fiber optic cables.
Saipem will leverage its advanced dynamic positioning vessels and state-of-the-art welding technology to execute the project. Importantly, the fabrication activities will be carried out at Saipem’s STAR facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, further boosting local content and capabilities within the region.
This contract follows earlier awards Saipem received from Saudi Aramco in September, totaling $1 billion for work at the Marjan, Zuluf, and Safaniyah oil fields. Saipem’s continued partnership with Aramco highlights its key role in supporting the development of Saudi Arabia’s offshore energy resources.
