Saipem has awarded a new offshore contract from Saudi Aramco for the development of Saudi Arabia’s Marjan field, under their existing Long-Term Agreement (LTA). The contract, valued at approximately $2 billion, was awarded following a bidding process and the fulfillment of standard preliminary conditions.
Saipem’s responsibilities include the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of wellhead platform topsides and jackets, tie-in platform jackets and topsides, rigid flowlines, and submarine composite and fiber optic cables.
The project will utilize Saipem’s local offshore fleet, featuring cutting-edge dynamic positioning vessels and advanced welding technology, alongside its engineering expertise. Fabrication will take place at the STAR yard in Dammam, further contributing to local content and supporting the development of the regional industry.
This contract, along with other recent awards from Saudi Aramco, strengthens Saipem’s long-established presence in Saudi Arabia.
