Petrobras, on behalf of the Tupi field consortium, has extended the charter and service agreements for the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis until 2030. Operated by Tupi Pilot MV22 and Modec Serviços de Petróleo do Brasil, this extension includes significant upgrades to enhance production reliability, efficiency, and safety while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With a production capacity exceeding 50,000 barrels per day, the FPSO continues to play a pivotal role in the pre-salt Santos Basin.
In operation since October 2010, the Cidade de Angra dos Reis was the first high-capacity FPSO to operate in Brazil’s pre-salt layer. These planned improvements underscore the consortium’s commitment to innovation and sustainability as they prepare to decommission the unit in 2030. The Tupi consortium includes Petrobras (67.216%), Shell (23.024%), Petrogal (9.209%), and PPSA (0.551%).
