Borr Drilling Limited has announced a new contract commitment for its 400-ft jackup rig, Norve, with a repeat customer in West Africa. The new contract, expected to commence in Q3 2025, will follow Norve’s upcoming work with Marathon Oil offshore Equatorial Guinea, scheduled from February to June 2025. The rig is currently operating for BW Energy offshore Gabon.
The new agreement includes five firm wells, anticipated to last approximately 320 days, with an option for five additional wells at mutually agreed prices. The contract adds an estimated $58 million to Borr Drilling’s revenue backlog, excluding mobilization and demobilization fees.
This marks another collaboration between Borr Drilling and its established West African clients, which include BW Energy, Eni, and Vaalco. Norve previously worked for Vaalco at the Etame field offshore Gabon between late 2021 and late 2022. As Borr continues its operations in the region, the repeat commitments underscore the company’s strong reputation and reliability in delivering offshore drilling solutions.
