Prosafe has announced a 954-day extension for its Safe Zephyrus semi-submersible accommodation vessel with Petrobras, ensuring operations off the coast of Brazil until September 2027. The extension, valued at approximately $109.7 million, highlights the vessel’s continued role in providing safety and maintenance support within Petrobras’ Buzios business unit. This follows an initial 650-day contract, which began in April 2023, after the Safe Zephyrus mobilized from the North Sea.
CEO Terje Askvig praised the partnership, stating, “The Safe Zephyrus has been performing exceptionally well, meeting the region’s demand for high-specification units.” Built in 2016 at Singapore’s Jurong Shipyard, the Safe Zephyrus features advanced DP3 technology, a 12-point mooring system, and accommodation for 450 personnel. This extension strengthens Prosafe’s position in Brazil, where it continues to play a key role in supporting offshore energy operations.
